An inside look at my experience at WPPI 2025—from hands-on photo walks to expert-led education and the incredible creative community that made it unforgettable.

Whew! WPPI 2025 in Las Vegas was everything I hoped for and more! If you’re a photographer looking to grow, connect, and get inspired, this is the event to be at. As a wedding photographer, staying ahead of trends, refining my skills, and learning from the best in the industry is so important. My couples trust me to capture one of the biggest days of their lives, and I owe it to them (and myself) to keep evolving.
Photo Walks & Creative Collaboration
One of my absolute favorite parts of WPPI was getting out and shooting with other photographers and content creators. We didn’t just sit in sessions—we took our cameras out into the real world. We hit the streets of Vegas for multiple photo walks, each one pushing me creatively in new ways. For instance, the photo walk led by Jermaine Horton, an amazing Chicago-based photographer, was next level! Seeing how he and other photographers approach a scene, interact with subjects, and compose their shots was inspiring. More importantly, it reminded me that there’s always a fresh way to see and tell a story through my lens.

Hands-On Learning + Game-Changing Education
WPPI is all about growth, and I loved that the event balanced hands-on learning with classroom-style education. On one hand, I got to participate in live shooting demos that challenged me to experiment with different techniques. On the other hand, the deep-dive business sessions gave me fresh strategies to elevate my brand.
Two educators who completely blew my mind were Lindsay Adler and Tomaiya Colvin. For example, Lindsay’s approach to lighting and posing had me rethinking my entire creative process (in the best way possible). Meanwhile, Tomaiya’s straight-up business wisdom was exactly the motivation I needed. It’s one thing to be great at taking photos, but knowing how to run a sustainable, thriving business? That’s the real key to success.
Why WPPI Matters for Wedding Photographers
For wedding photographers like me, events like WPPI aren’t just fun—they’re necessary. Weddings are fast-paced, emotional, and full of once-in-a-lifetime moments. Because of this, I have to be at the top of my game, ready to handle anything. By investing in my education, I can offer my couples not just beautiful images but an elevated, effortless experience from start to finish.
Final Thoughts: Should You Go to WPPI?
If you’re a photographer and you’ve never been to WPPI, GO. It’s inspiring, energizing, and a chance to connect with a community that gets what we do. As a result, I’m walking away from this experience with fresh ideas, new skills, and a whole lot of excitement for what’s next! Learn more about this must-attend event at WPPI’s official website
